Bouys playing music

Floating devices detect the waves of the sea and convert it to music.
Musical waves from Christian Liljedahl on Vimeo.
The idea is, to place bouys in the water, that react to the waves in the harbour and create sound – music.
Waves can be generated by wind, ships or by bystanders throwing rocks in the water.
That is really the feeling I am exploring. The feeling you have, standing by the ocean, thinking, meditating.. while you casually throw rocks in the water. You feel compelled to do this, yet there is no real objective. Its just you, the water and the stone.
When the ring of waves from the splash of the stone radiates, the wave-front hits the bouys and the create music. By throwing stones in different places, the bouys are activated in different directions.
