Singing Plant in Odense
Created at: 19/08/2008
The Singing Plant gets an update - now running without the help of a computer, processing the sounds through a guitar reverb unit instead, and running with a custom made theramin replacement, detecting capacitance change.
The plant just finished a road trip to the flower festival in Odense, where it was featured in the city centre in the form of a tall plant which many people could interact with at once.
The plant now sings by detecting a change in capacitance, and processes the resulting change through guitar reverbs, using the arduino synth previously documented on this tech blog to create amazing sounds and harmonies. Original Singing Plant was created by Mads Høbye and can be seen here – http://halfmachine.dk/posts/56. Update to singing plant created by Dzl. Many thanks to Rikke Rasmussen and Jørgen Jakob Friis for their help.
