Easy Interactivity

Interactivity surrounds us every day. From turning on a light switch, to having automatic doors opening in front of you, interactivity is a core basis of modern life. The Easy Interactivity workshop is a focused two day workshop introducing participants to electronics and interactivity basics.

Workshop Outline:

In this workshop, participants will learn how to create and manipulate interactive mediums. They will work with switches, sensors, and motors, be introduced to the Arduino board and programming environment, and will be given a crash course in electronics and wiring.

Workshop Structure:

Participants will be introduced to the concepts of interactivity, and will be shown inspirational examples of interactive installations.

The theory of “Make art from junk” will be explained, showing participants how all materials from the workshop are recycled, and can be reused in fantastic ways.

Electronics will be introduced, including the basics of wiring, soldering, and identifying electrical components.

A basic introduction of Arduino will be conducted. Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform that consists of a programmable hardware component and a straight forward programming environment .

Participants will create an interactive component that they can bring home with them

Information & Registration:

This workshop is a two day workshop, being held from 10am to 5pm each day.
Workshop is limited to twenty participants.

Price for workshop can be quickly calculated for your group as based on number of participants and options chosen.

Lunch, technical support, use of equipment, and all materials are provided.
